Greetings from Somewhere In Time, Unltd!

As the Web Mistress for SITUSeattle.com, I thought it might be nice to have an accompanying blog site for general discussion and interaction with the blogging community about historical costuming – a huge passion of mine!

For those of you who are interested in costuming, especially in the Victorian, Edwardian eras, SITUSeattle’s sites are for you!  On our main website’s homepage, you will find the “Prior Events” link to many lovely photos of events which I have personally participated.  Somewhere In Time, Unlimited has a number of formal events planned for the 2008, along with “Dress-Up Opportunities” which are not specifically hosted by SITU but are events out in our community.

The Members of SITU are really, really nice folks and the events are loads of fun!  We cover a wide range of eras, so there is something for just about everyone.  You don’t need a lot of money to either put together a costume either.  Some people are lucky and can pull a rabbit-out-of-the-hat with “finds” from the local thrift stores about town.  Then of course, we have those who are incredible tailors and seamstresses with the accent on historical accuracy and perfection.  Our group welcomes everyone to our events so there can quite the gambit in attire.

Come, join in the fun and add your own “two-bits worth” about costumes you’ve sewn, patterns that you found were great (or not so great), other blogs or ideas you’ve found helpful, and share your pearls of wisdom with those of us who love dressing in different time periods.

Here’s wishing you a lovely day, “Somewhere In Time”…Auntie Rita in the lush and green Northwest!
